Seguin, Klimt and little Amy - Reposted from Sunday

Hi, hope you are all well.  Although have not been on blogger much the last week or so I have been busy getting some artwork done as well as the usual home things we all have to do.

Acrylics on 10 x 12"Canvas Board.
Am not sure if this is finished am going to leave it awhile and see...........this is how it was when I started a couple of weeks ago...............the original was painted by the artist Armand Seguin.

Also had a go at creating artwork in  Klimt style......

All these are in my Art Journal worked in Acrylics and Oil Pastels.
Mother and Child are going into the Art Journal Journey Challenge this month, which is Living Beings.

To finish I did a quick sketch in coloured pencils of my adorable great grand-daughter Amy who is 2 years old.

Have also done quite a lot more artwork but am sure you would be bored to death, so will save them for another day.

Thank you for dropping in.  Take care of yourselves and have a goodly week, Hugs Annette xx

Happy PPF to everyone who takes part in this fabulous blog.

Unfortunately since Sunday's post I have been in great pain.  Saw the Dr today and she confirmed I have Shingles.  Have never had it before so not sure how long this awful pain will last.  So please forgive me if I don't visit you for a while as even typing this gives me horrendous pain.  But as soon as am better will be back to visiting you, xxxxx

Hooray a Canvas finished at last................

Hi, like everyone else it has been a busy week and another busy one ahead, but did manage to more or less finish my large canvas  (24" x 20") worked in Acrylics and Oil Pastels.  There is a little touching up here and there then its good to go.

showing the snippet below so you can read the words..............

This is how it originally started out in June with its first layers

Then I drew another Frida, this time in an abstract style with pens and oil pastels on copy paper, for Art Journal Journey.

Made a tag with a origami dress as an experiment..............

and have started a new canvas, this time much smaller - 10" x 12"

I will be submitting all these works to Paint Party Friday
Thats been my week on the art and crafts front.  Thank you again for all your loving support and kind words. Wishing you a very happy and healthy week.  Hugs Annette xx

Frida Kahlo - Art Journal Journey

Hi, after my Mother's death I haven't really felt like doing much and to tell you the truth have felt rather anti-social which isn't like me.  Drawing strength from my family has been helpful with the healing, especially from my youngest daughter Wendy who has been an absolute rock.  We laughed and cried together.  In the midst of all this I had my hair chopped off, which was strangely liberating to have very short hair (for the first time ever).  Good news is,  have now been signed off by both my consultants and my summer cold has almost onwards and upwards.....

Art Journal Journey subject this month is Frida Kahlo chosen by Valerie-Jael whom many of you know.

Worked in Oil Pastels and coloured pencils

Worded in Oil Pastels and highlighted with Pic Monkey
Two very different interpretations of Frida Kahlo, reflecting the good and hard times this artist suffered.

Will show these pages at Paint Party Friday also.

I hope you like these interpretations and thank you so much for sticking by me.  Will be popping by your blogs very soon.  Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette xx

Just a couple of pages from my Art Journal to show you, but I hope you like them..............

Using Portfolio Oil Pastels on both these pages

Am working on a very large canvas at the moment, here it is in its very basic stages......yep its very basic lol...

Hopefully will get it finished in a fortnight, fingers crossed.  Thank you for popping in and showing your very kind support.  Take care, hugs Annette xx

PS:   Am having problems with Blogger at the moment, it won't let me see who has posted and cannot even access them through my favourites list.  Am so sorry if I haven't visited you because of this problem but hopefully it will all be solved this week, xx

Large Canvas and some Journal Pages

Hi, just another 11 days to go and we can say our final goodbyes.  In the meantime have finished at long last a large canvas for a member of the family, its a  birthday present.  Cannot think of a title for it so any suggestions would be most helpful.

Making a start

Also have finished two Journal Pages, this one is especially for me

and the next one is painted in the style of Rene' Magritte - hopefully

Thank you for visiting me and for all your wonderful support, hugs Annette xx

Thank You.... June Guys and Mix it Monthly

Thank you so very much for all your hugs and prayers on my mother's passing.  Unfortunately we cannot get her interred until the 26th of this month as everywhere is booked solid, which is causing us a lot of distress as you can imagine.

To keep myself sane have been working on the June Guys (29 faces) in my journal.

The following male faces are done in the style of Vincent Van Gogh and worked in Oil Pastels.

Also worked in Oil Pastels - Modigiliani Style

Then painted with Acrylics - Chagall Style

I enjoyed exploring the different styles and will probably rework them a bit, it has definitely kept me occupied.  The left-hand page of the Chagall style can also go into the Mix it Monthly challenge - Home. and AJJ - houses.

Thanking you again from the bottom of my heart.  Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette xx
